Kudos Report: July 30-31, 2012

Welcome to the first online edition of the kudos report! We’re trying something new and would love your feedback.

The pros:

  • [relatively] unlimited size
  • no formatting issues
  • online storage/review, visible to public/future members
  • avoid sending 300+ emails a week and eating up listserv capacity

The cons:

  • click a link rather than immediate access in your email

Thanks to Tony Rigdon for getting us up and running!

A small but mighty group faced the heat/wind/rain and posted some big numbers this weekend.

In the local Show Me State Games 5k, Karen Jones showed that 1st overall win she pulled off a few weeks ago wasn’t a fluke and did it again! Ashton Oltmanns wasn’t far behind with a 3rd place age group finish, and Jake Simpson took 2nd in his age group. Keith Fernandez smoked the 10k, claiming 2nd overall and 1st age group. Medals all around!

Speed demons Terry and Todd Hart went out for the Ohio Senior Olympics cycling races and took no prisoners. The top 4 finishers in each event qualified for the 2013 National Games. You’ll see both of them there in multiple races, Todd in the short and long course time trial, and Terry in the short and long course road race as well as the short course time trial. Way to crush it, guys!

Down in New Mexico, Matt Gott did his first open water sprint tri at the Cochiti Lake Tri – newbie no more, he claimed 3rd in his age group! Awesome race, Matt!

We’ll forgive them for not flying the CMC colors as they were wearing the red, white, and blue of TEAM USA! At the Long Course World Championships, Jenny Clark fought a series of unfortunate events but came out on top, dominating the course in 8:00:18 – 9th in her age group and the first American! Carrie Kimber was right behind her with a great race of her own! HUGE congrats to both of you for a job well done – on the world stage, no less!

For the photo of the week, check out Ben Wilson flying on his way to an age group win at the Tribute Tri in Windsor, MO a few weeks ago!

Looking good, Ben!
