July 27th 2012 Kudo’s Report

Sorry for the delay, friends. We’ve got some big kudos to send out AND it’s a two-fer, so get excited.

Leadville, CO, is heating up it’s summer schedule and Tim Ferrell is in for the long haul – and crushing it. Two down, three to go. He flew through the 50-miler in 11:34. Keep it up, Tim!

Lisa Wells completed a 6-day 260mi bike tour of northeast Michigan with 450 of her closest friends. Sweet! What a great trip!

On a very tough course, Mark Reynolds brought his A game and placed 2nd elite grand masters and 13th overall at the HFP Casear Creeks Olympic Tri in Cincinnati, OH. Awesome!

Ironman 70.3 Racine saw James Trammell dominate his first-ever triathlon (welcome to the crazies!)! Way to go, James! Terry Hart was smokin’ it until a hamstring injury cut his day short. Here’s to a speedy recovery, Terry! And a big thanks to Misty Brawner for playing sherpa/support crew/biggest fan to help James enjoy his big day.

The New Town Triathlon saw several great CMC performances: Greg Campbell 4th, Drew Greaves 1st overall (by a solid margin, earning a big PR and a cash prize!), Luise King 2nd overall female, David Mountjoy, JP Palmer 3rd, Mackenzie Rickman, and Tony Rigdon. Well done!

Most of us have work, school, and family to balance with our triathlon and outdoor hobbies, and Karen Jones is rocking it and making it look easy. Congrats to Karen for passing her comprehensive exams! Almost a PhD!!

This past weekend, Columbia hosted the BEST triathlon event of the year, the Mighty Max Kids Tri! Current and future CMCers were racing, cheering, and volunteering with everything they had.
