Kudos Report: August 11-12, 2012

This was a weekend for the podium – TONS of speedsters out having a great time!

Tim Ferrell continued his domination of Leadville, CO, this time in the infamous 100mi mountain bike race. His 11:23:20 finish time earned him the coveted belt buckle saved for those beating the 12hr mark – to finish is a feat in and of itself, to break the 12hr barrier is beyond impressive. Way to crush it, Tim!

CMC newbies Alyssa Marlo and Ashton Oltmanns sported their CMC colors for the first time and showed that those sunrise specials are paying off in a big way – they claimed 2nd and 1st in their age group, respectively, and took home a stovepipe award for their efforts. Congrats, girls, and welcome to the club!

In the Republic Tri, Jenny Clark bounced back from Long Course Worlds to finish 3rd (and 10th overall female), just edged out by son Jon Clark who placed 5th in a fast age group. Becky Hennessy claimed 2nd in her age group too. Awesome races all around!

A strong group was out melting pavement at the Missouri State Time Trial Championships. Greg Campbell 7th (23.9mph avg), Stephen Parshall 5th (24.3mph), Jackie Pearce 3rd (23.7mph), Cheryl Rathert 5th (22.5mph), Jeremy Stanek 2nd (22.1mph AND a PR!), and Sandy Wulff 1st (20.8mph). Wow, you guys are FLYING! To give you an idea of the speed and breadth of the competition – a gentleman over 70yr averaged 23.2mph and a kid in the 13-14 age group averaged 21.9mph. Smokin’.

And a follow-up from last week, I’m sorry I missed new CMCer Jim McDermott and his impressive 4th overall finish at the Warrensburg tri! Way to go, Jim!

The photo of the week: In case you missed it on facebook, check out Alyssa Marlo and Ashton Oltmanns sporting their stovepipe hats after tearing it up at the Stovepipe Tri in Petersburg, IL this weekend! AND looking awesome in their new CMC gear!
