At the Vermillion Harbor Tri/Du in Vermillion, Ohio, the OH contingent put on a clinic. Terry Hart won his age group and Mark Reynolds took 1st elite grand masters in the tri, and Todd Hart crushed the field to win his age group in the du. Nobody else even has a chance when these guys toe the line. Congrats, guys!
Steelhead 70.3 was a PR kind of a day for CMC. Amanda Gerke, Jackie Pearce, and Cheryl Rathert all got well-earned PRs, while Jackie worked her way to 7th female pro (!) and Cheryl CRUSHED everybody on the bike! AWESOME!!
Welcome a new tri convert to the century club! Craig Lycke finished his first 100-mile bike ride, covering the MS150 (day 1) course and having a great time. New CMCer Rachel Wittenberger was there with him, surely pushing and prodding and commiserating as necessary. Way to go, guys!
Tim Ferrell joined the century club, too – of runners. In Leadville, CO. With some ridiculous elevation gain. Yes, on foot. Yes, a mere 7 days after arguably one of the toughest 100mi mountain bike races in the world. And capping off a summer of 5 Leadville races. Wowza. Tim Ferrell, YOU ARE A LEADMAN!!
GOOD LUCK to all the Hood-to-Coast-ers this weekend! 200 miles, 12 runners, one of the best parts of the country. Bring home stories, photos, and a killer “vanumentary!”
