In the final weekend of August, CMC was out training and racing to get ready for NATIONALS!

Terry Hart is gearing up to crush Redman. At the Great Buckeye Challenge 70.3 in Springfield, Ohio, he dominated his age group on his way to a 13th overall finish! You’re so ready, Terry!

Joe Company, CMCer and owner/coach of Endurance Company, set up an awesome training weekend in Quincy/Hannibal, with some stellar logistics work by Carrie Kimber. Jerry Donohue, Luise King, and Lisa Rosen were among the group taking advantage of the FREE clinics including a killer hill ride, the Mississippi River Run 5/10k, a 1.2mi open water swim simulation, and a transition clinic. Awesome weekend!

Hood to Coast: an incredible 200-mile 36-hour team relay adventure in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. A group of CMCers bearing team name “Got the Runs” took to the hills for a phenomenal event surely topping vacation memories for years to come. That, and they finished well ahead of goal pace with smiles on their faces. Look for these guys walking on clouds for a while: Gale Adair, Misty Brawner, Yvonne Buchheit, Don Corwin, Sherry Corwin, Caroline Cue, Annie Fennewald, Andrew Fennewald, Uwe Lochner, Jen Reisdorf, Mackenzie Rickman, Karen Roberts, Karen Rouse, Nate Smith, and Nancy Yaeger. Congrats on a great race!

JP Palmer pulled a two-fer on Saturday, tearing up the Lake St. Louis Tri in the morning, and then turning around to win her age group in the Turning the Page 5k that night! Way to go, JP!

The Chicago Tri was a family event for the Gutierrez/Worthington family. Gabe Worthington, age 10, won his age group (170 boys!), and sister Melina Worthington, age 10, took 2nd in her similarly huge age group (168 girls!). Parents Maria Gutierrez and Roger Worthington did well, too, each finishing in the top 20%. Great job, guys!

Determined to not let the club down in Oklahoma, Jessica Johnson finally got a much-needed bike tuneup and laid down a sub-5hr century PR on the windy flats of Delaware. We’re ready for Redman – let’s rock this, CMC!!
