June Membership Meeting – Special Time and Place!

We are excited that Advanced Radiology will kindly be hosting us at their location for our June Membership Meeting.
Thursday, June 8
6:30 p.m. for transition clinics and social
7:30 p.m. meeting time
Advanced Radiology
311 N Keene St, Columbia, MO 65201
We are going to make this a little more interesting and fun by hosting two transition clinics at 6:30 p.m., an hour before our meeting! Each clinic will have tips from beginners to the more experienced, and they will also be based on the lengths of the races you hope to race: one more for sprints and super-sprints, and the other for longer distance (Half-Iron and Ironman distance). Kimberly Earnest and Mark Vellek will be our transition guides and they look forward to working with you all!
So if you feel like you can learn a few tips, come bring your bike and gear out to the Advanced Radiology parking lot where we will have bike racks (graciously borrowed from Ultramax) and plenty of space for you all to try out some new things!
Feel like you know how to transition good enough already? Then come out at 6:30 p.m. and chill with the Advanced Radiology crew and Deb Crawford, where they are providing us drinks and appetizers for the night! They will start opening the bar and food at 6:30 p.m., which will give you a full hour to come out and socialize before our meeting.
As for the meeting, Deb has mentioned that she is devising some great games that will measure our determination and strength as triathletes in order for us to win some FREE DEXA BODY SCANS from their clinic. If you don’t know what a body composition DEXA scan is, it is a dual energy examination (with minimal radiation) that measures the amount of muscle and fat that you have within your body. Several athletes like to have one completed at the beginning and end of their training year to see the advancement of their muscle composition. If you would like to read more about this, here is a website that I found to be easily understandable and informative: http://www.bonewellness.com/dexa/
Please RSVP to Deb Crawford at Advanced Radiology so she know how much food to anticipate. To do this, please look for her email on the trigeeks listserve messages. Thanks!
